How to take your pet on vacation

Is your summer filled with family vacations and you can’t bear the thought of leaving your beloved dog at home?

We have good news for you. There are ways to safely take your dog on vacation.

Although some vacation destinations are harder than others to take your pet on, it only takes keeping your dog clean and under control to have a fun vacation.

Don’t forget to call the establishment where you plan to stay to make sure your pet is welcomed.

Here are some questions you should ask to identify the pet-friendliness of your vacation spot:

-Are there breed restrictions or dog size restrictions at the hotel, motel, resort, or campground?
-Is there a pet limit?
-Will you be charged extra for your dog or have a cleaning fee for your dog?
-Does your dog need a leash?
-Do you need to provide proof of vaccinations or a health certificate at the time of your stay?

Your pet can enjoy the open water, forest, mountainsides and more with you by using the following products:

-A kennel
-Plush beds for a good night sleep
-A loose-leash to help your dog feel calm around strangers and relax with you during walks on the beach or a mountain trail. There’s nothing wrong with your dog saying hello.
-Bring dog food, fresh water, bowls, and dog treats for the trip.
-Purchase poop bags to clean after your dog.
-Use a brush, flea comb and tick remover from to keep your dog clean and safe from ticks.
-And most importantly, purchase a well fitting collar that has ID tags to prevent your dog from going missing during vacation. The ID tags should include your phone number (cell phone) and the place where you’re staying.

With the right travel products, social interactions and fun activities, your vacation with your dog can’t go wrong.
